Kesia Lynette Hayes

Kesia Lynette Hayes was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 22, 1977 to Lucille and Joe Hayes.  She graduated in 1995 from Westinghouse High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Kesia went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Bradford College and further studied billing and coding at the Median School.

Kesia was a member of Mt. Calvary Holy Church since she was a child and participated in many church events and ministries. She especially enjoyed traveling to church conventions.  Kesia also served as an usher and an outstanding accounting clerk on the Finance Committee.

Kesia was known as a kindhearted, peaceful, and giving woman who always had a smile for everyone.  She was always thankful to God for the great things he had done in her life and never complained.  Her favorite passage of Scripture is Psalm 121, part of which reads: “I will lift up mine eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help.  My help cometh from the Lord who made heaven and earth.”

In her personal time, Kesia enjoyed traveling, reading, bowling, long walks, and watching sports, especially Ohio State football.  One of her favorite pastimes was shopping with her beloved mother, Lucille.

Kesia departed this life after a hard fought battle with cancer on November 16, 2011.  She leaves with us a shining example of resiliency and courage; and a lasting "legacy of excellence."
